Not sure what it is considered, bur early out after gastric bypass, it
practically killed me. It wasn't easily digestible, the pain lasted
forever. I am 8 months out and crave AND fear watermelon.
Good luck.

Hi I am 7 weeks out and i absolutely love watermelon always have and always
will. In my opinion i consider it as liquid due to the fact that you have
very little of the actual melon in your mouth to swallow and chew after the
juice is gone. I am having a hard time eating alot of foods so watermelon
has really helped me. everyone is different

Watermelon is the fruit highest in natural sugar (86% of it's calories are
in sugar and should be avoided or eaten in moderation and small
servings)...Watermelon will lay me out on the floor in serious late dumping
pain...The problem with late dumping is the food is already down into the
bowel when it hits so I cannot even vomit it up...I have to lie down for
about two hours and usually have to fall asleep to get passed that pain.
Watermelon scares me too like the first poster...And I will only eat it
cautiously...Most fruits are liquid...watermelon is liquid sugar, IMHO!
There are far better choices of both fruits and liquids! Seriously! Raw
fruits and veggies should be avoided the first 3 mos post op because of the
harshness of their enzymes on your new surgery...Watermelon is however, a
good source of potassium, Vit A and C...But not good enough for me to even
attempt it without fear and I personally can handle a good amount of
sugar...but that's some super sugar in watermelon! WOW the pain! LOL
