I still do that, one day something won't make me sick, and the next time it will, it has been 2 years since Oct. I was tested once for a stricture, but it was ok, so i know that it is somethiing i have to deal with, as least i think, ummmm maybe my stomach is still small. I hope it never stretches..lol

Thats why VBGs arent done much these days. You have probably realized junk food like potato chip[s go down fine, while good food like beef gets stuck. I suggest you look into a revision to perhaps a RNY. I feel bad for anyone who goes thru major surgery just to find out it has major troubles. You arent alone. My surgeon specializes in revisions primarily from the VBG. Best wishes.

I had my vbg in 1995 and have had vomiting and nausea for years. I lost from 293 lbs to 135 it was great. I put up with the vomiting and nausea just figured it was part of being thin. I then started to gain wt. etc. 240lbs is my current wt. thought maybe stricture etc. now I am see a bariatric about it. He said our gastrointestinal tract slows down due to the state line across a nerve in the lower stomach to the bowels. I only had bowel movements 3 times a week. He put me on Reglan 3 times a day and no more nausea only occ vomiting. But sad part is my stomach is the size of a softball and they don't want to do any evision and I am still gaining weight. The top part of the stomach that sends the I am full signal doesn't happen in me until I have eaten to much. So fat for life I quess. I tried lots of pills for hunger and only end up gaining it all back plus 10lbs when the pills wear off in about 3 months. Good luck

Samantha although your surgeon didnt want to do a revision, that doesnt mean it cant be done!!! Some surgeons cherry pick the easy ones, for many reasons. Have no idea of where your at but doctor Philip Schauer president of the ASBS and head of cleveland clinics obesity center specializes in tough cases like yours.

Check out the duodenal switch WLS. It could be the answer to your prayers. A lot of people have revisions from the VBG. Go to duodenal switch.com and check out docs who do revisions to the DS and keep reading and searching . You should not still be vomiting. That is crazy.
