Question:
I'm two weeks out and itching really bad
it feels like i have the chicken pox, without the chicken or the pox or like a mosquito is biting me, its really bad i've heard of some people saying its because of the meds but i've been off for a few days now and i still get it — lightburn (posted on March 28, 2007)

I have the same problem. only mine is on my stomach. My stomach itches so
bad that I can't stand it. I put some moisturizer on it thinking that
would help. It does for a little while but then it starts again. I think
mine is from healing, because I don't itch all over.

Don't know if you are still taking narcotics for pain, but that can be the
cause of your itching. Itching is a sign (outside of the narcotics) of
healing, so if it is not medication then perhaps you are just healing
really well???? Call you doctor and seek their advice, they know you well
and should be aware of this problem. Thanks. Patricia P.

Pain meds can make you itchy. When I was in the hospital, they gave me
Benadryl. Check with your surgeon/PCP....if you are still taking pain meds,
it's probably what it is. IF it's your incisions, mine started to itch like
crazy (they were healing) and they said I could put neosporin (sp?) on
them...it did help! Good luck.
