Nope......107 is within the normal limits of a glucose. Hope that answered
your question.

Sorry anything above 100 is now considered diabetic previously it was 110
or below normal.... a couple years ago anything over became 100 diabetic.
the good news is is helped or cured by WLS. And will help get you approved
too. The fact its so low means WLS will likely fix it:) The cure or fix
rate is 90% according to my surgeon dr philip schauer president oif the
ASBS.

They will do a follow up test HA1C to get a better idea of your long term
situation but dont worry is correctable, and 107 is minor

Well, it all depends. Were you fasting before the test? If this is a
random glucose test (not fasting before it) you may not necessarily be
diabetic. It all depends on what and if you ate before the test. Check
with your Dr.

Sorry to sound like the teacher (or in this case the DM nurse educator) but
according to the Am. Diabetes Assoc. 2007 standards we are still using
125mg/dl fasting as the major identifier for T2DM or a non-fasting over
200mg.dl. Without more information I wouldn't venture to even say you have
prediabetes. . You need to discuss your questions with your doctor and
he/she may decide to do an oral glucose tolerance test based on not only
your history but your family's medical history. Hope this helps. Donna

I was under the impression that anything over 110 was considred high for a
fasting. Not sure if things have chaned or not.

Well, it seems that the answer to this question varies...as it does with
almost everything these days, depending on whom you talk to. Speaking as
someone who regularly gives insulin shots, a nonfasting count of 80 - 120
is normal, thus not requiring any added insulin. Numbers under 80 is
considered hypoglycimic, which is just as dangerous as being above 120.
Again....These numbers are gauged on NON-fasting results. Best thing to
do..as always...is to talk to your doc and decide what the best course of
action is for your personal situation. Best of luck.

It depends on whther it was a fasting blood sugar, and how close to eating
you took it.

It will get you the more accurate over time HA1C test. the regular test is
more for screening people.

My Husband has been a diabetic for 37 years and the rule of thumb his
doctor has told him is, if you have a blood sugar of 80-120 its considered
normal. Of course the 120 would be on the high end of things. And, after a
person eats the blood sugar rises in everyone. It really does depend if one
has eaten and when.
Hope this helps :)
