Question:
what exact test are ran before surgery?
I have read many things that will have to be done before surgery. Dr. Miles will be my surgeon. On the lab work, will it be blood gases or just routine lab work. Just want to be prepared. — PAM M. (posted on November 7, 2002)

Lab work, blood gas, (my tech was real good didnt hurt at all)Pulmunary
(breath in a tube inside a booth), EKG, (electrodes to check heart) EGD
where you swallow a scope (while asleep) so they can look around, check
your esophogas sp?, stomach and duodenum and also check for bugs (H.pylori
etc)(I had it and they just gave me antibiotics for it in the hospital)Took
about a day and a half. Felt good about their thoroughness. Good luck to
you.
