Question:
I read where people were using flavored H20 to help with water intake

but it is carbonated and we are not suppose to have carbonated.    — PAULA B. (posted on May 27, 2002)

I've been trying various brands of non-carbonated flavored water... no carbs, no calories. Fruit-2-O and its store-brand equivalent have Splenda in them and are a bit too sweet for my taste. My favorite at the moment is FruitWater which, although a bit pricey, comes in yummy flavors like Raspberry-Lime, Peach-Ginseng, and Lemon-Ginger... and aren't sweetened. Of course, there's always good ole limeade... squeeze a lime into one of those sixteen-ounce bottles, add as much of a packet of Splenda as you'd like, and fill up with water and ice. Hope this helps; I've been surprised at how plain old water, which I guzzled pre-op, doesn't taste so good anymore (ketone-breath?).

I've heard a lot of people say they like Fruit 2-O. I can't stand plain water either, no matter what the temp. I've tried weak Crystal Light which isn't too bad. I've also tried squeezing a little lemon juice and some Splenda into ice water. I've been using sugar free popsicles too since they don't seem to taste too bad.

The Costco in my hometown sells Diet Ice Botanicals (made by Talking Rain). No calories, no sugar or carbs. It is flavored with Splenda and they have a few herbal extracts or Vitamin C added. Right now the flavors I've tried are Cranberry-Raspberry, Strawberry-Kiwi, Peach-Passion, and Key Lime (my favorite). They are great! I like Fruit2O, too, but it's hard to find where I live.

Gatorade came out with a new "fitness water" called "Propel" I think it is wonderful!!! It come in berry, lemon, orange and my favorite black cherry. It has 2g of sugar. and lots of vitamins and minerals. My Dr said that is a great choice for getting in my water even with the sugar. You can go to there web site and read all about it. propelwater.com I get mine at Wal*Mart for about 95 cents a bottle. And alot of gas stations are starting to carry it as well. Which makes it a great on the go switch from water. One bottle is 23.7oz.

Try koolaid made with Splenda. Lots of flavors, much cheaper than the flavored waters and it is calorie, fat and carb free.

Hello there.. .The flavored waters that you are referring to are most likely the Fruit20 (by Veryfine) and Propel Fitness Water (by Gatorade). Neither of these are carbonated and are wonderful alternatives to BLAH tasting water. Propel is my favorite! It does have a "few" calories but they are sort of insignificant at 10 calories per serving. I love the black cherry and lemon! I also buy Fruit20. My kids love it. :0) ENJOY!! Hugs, Kathie (in Hawaii)
