Question:
Has anyone ever been approved with medicaid?`

If so can you please tell me how? Are there any special testing, or comorbities? I have recently got a medicaid card, and was told I might be able to have this surgery paid for by the state. Any info you could give me would be great.    — [Anonymous] (posted on March 18, 2001)

Yes this surgery has been paid by medicaid, well at least in the state of Ohio, I am currently trying to have this done through medicaid but have talked to others who have had medicaid pay for it to find out if anyone in you state has go research insurenses on the I think home page and click on your state and scroll to the m's and it will list people in your state if any who have had this surgery through the state. Yes, My friend just got approved by Ohio Medicaid last week it only took them 3 weeks to approve it. We (by saying we, I helped) compiled all of her diet history and her co-morbs and all her past medical history into a packet and we also wrote a letter telling how wls would improve her life and how being morbidly obese has affected her life. She had no fight what so ever. Good Luck,
