I think it varies by person. I'm one year out and I still don't feel hungry
and remind myself to eat at regular intervals. If I forget and wait too
long, I start to feel tired. Maybe your friend is dealing with head hunger
her mind is telling her she's hungry?

I'm just over 3 months out and have not experienced actual physical hunger
yet. I do have "head" hunger, but if I do something to distract
myself, it goes away. It's true - most of the time, I have to make myself
eat when I'm supposed to. I tend to get cranky and tired if I miss a meal,
but not physically hungry.

I had RNY 7 wks ago., I do get hunry, not head hunger, just real old time
hunger. But it is not horrible and I can live with it. If it is snack
time, I snack, if it is meal time, I eat, otherwise I get something to
drink and just ignore it. It really hasn't been a problem for me. Good
luck. Hugs, Jane
