Can we use the same protein shakes pre op and post op. If so anyone know of a good kind you can get at Meijers or Walmart? — cuppaloopy (posted on December 10, 2009)

I use Body Fortress protein that I get from WalMart. It comes in three
flavors. I mix it in water, milk, yogurt, and even coffee with a little non
fat no sugar added creamer for a special treat. I also like Unjury that I
order from their website but it is a little expensive. Hope that helps!

EAS's are good. but pricey. I just buy unjury from unjury.com. It comes
right to my door every month and the cost is about the same as any you get
at the stores...only I get the unflavored and the chicken soup flavored
ones. I mis the unflavored into flavored water or milk.

EAS CARB ADVANTAGE are one of the best I have found. My dietitian
recommended them way before surgery, and so far, they are the best. The
taste is decent, although they are a bit watery. They are the only over the
counter (in grocery stores)with the lowest sugar content/highest protein
bang for the amount. Meijers will have them, although they are cheapest at
WalMart.

From GNC I use their WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE
it is expensive, but if you go the beginning of the month and use thier
gold card, it is cheaper.

To the poster above me, if you order through bariatriceating.com, it is so
much cheaper than GNC even with the card!

I have found nothing at Walmart or GNC I could tolerate. However, Bariatric
Advantage is incredible. 27 gram of protein and that is before you add the
milk. No aftertaste, incredible, incredible. Goto the website, try it, you
will not be sorry. Use my name as a reference if you do order, Elizabeth
Nus.

You can also make your own. Just buy some dry protein (isolates)and you can
flavor it any way you want - no sugar though. I mix a banana, berries and a
yogurt. I've seen that you can even make coffee flavored protein drinks.
