Question:
Blood Clot? Please read and respond soon...
I am 6 months post RNY and did a lot of walking at a festival yesterday. I was at 286 and am down to 190. I noticed the front of the bottom of my leg has been hurting today, but didn't really pay any attention to it. I just thought it was sore because of all the walking I did, and my body isn't used to all that activity. Well, I just noticed it seems like a bruse on the front of my leg kind of near my bone, and it is really sore and feels like a knot. It is not hot or discolored, just looks a little darker than the rest of my skin on my leg but not red. I don't remember banging it anywhere to cause a bruise. Could this be a blood clot? I thought that walking/moving a lot would prevent blood clots. I never had any problem like this in the past. I also had three c sections before my RNY, and never had any blood clot issues? Please help. I am thinking of going to the ER if the pain gets any worse, but it is making me really nervous now. I don't want to go to the ER and it turn out to be just a bruise though. — Lyndsay30 (posted on July 19, 2009)

Sounds possible that it may be, but usually blod clots are very painful
especially to touch and they usually will make your leg warm to touch.
Don't be touching it alot just in case and try to keep your activity to a
minimal until you can know for sure. A blood clot can happen at any time
for no particular reason. If you feel in your gut that something is not
right I would probably get it checked out.
