This happens due to the fact that you didn't chew your food well and your food got stuck in the stoma. So if food is stuck then your salvia won't go down either. The foamies are just accumulated salvia. The best thing to do is to throw up and start all over because it won't go away. And yes it is painful so why suffer through the pain when once the food comes out, it will feel better. Give yourself about half an hour to an hour to recover from the foamies. So remember chew your food slowly and chew your food well.

I don't ever get sick with the foamies.. It is like salty spit comes up in my mouth like bfore you throw up. I just sip some tea or something like crystal light and it passes

I had the same experience. I was in pain and could feel the food move through my system all day. I think I didn't chew it enough (it was dry tuna)plus being too dry. I learned to chew my food well after that experience!

I found some foods with skin like tomatoes and grapes can be very painful. Even when they seem chewed up the skin can block to stoma. When it happens I drink a lot of water and this will help me throw up what ever is stuck. It does not happen often but it is not fun.

It could be a few things that caused this...Not chewing well or eating too fast and it getting stuck as is the concensus! But I also get this from over eating usually from very sweet things like some fruits like cherries, grapes, watermelon....Those fruits will get me everytime if I don't watch my serving and the foamies just gag you til it passes or comes up...If the food is stuck as well ...that really hurts...But sometimes the pain starts about 15-30 minutes later and I know it's sugar dumping...It still happens to me at almost 6 years if I am mindlesslessly nibbling on cherries (which is soooo easy for me to do! Love those things!) I still must watch my servings of sweets, even in complex carbs like fruit, and also fats as well as pasta, rice and potatoes will also do this to me...I do best when I eat fruits slowly and chew well so I can pay attention to when I've had enough...(The taste buds would just keep going if they had their way...but the pouch does give warnings if you pay close attention to your eating and chewing!) As we move along we can eat faster but you still want to practice chewing well...I got skins stuck as someone mentioned) at 2 and 3 years out and it was quite scary and painful for HOURS until that skin came up...It hurt for days and it was just a little red tomatoe or roasted red pepper skin that came up some 6-8 hours on a road trip...The pain was excruciating while it was stuck and then ached for about 3 days! Foamies are a clear sign for me that I am about to dump in one way or another! So practice good eating habits always! Pay attention especially this first year and don't get distracted by conversation, chaos in the house, kids or pets activity etc...Eat quietly where you can focus and make good habits that last!
