Question:
In 3 weeks i will be 11 months out of surgery and i was just wondering
what is about the right amount of food to be eating ?? I can eat a whole slice of pizza with no problem and i was just wondering if thats about right....also what is the amount of weight i should be losing ?? I'm losing about 4 ilbs a month and was also wondering if thats about right if others are experiencing around the same amount of weight loss 11 months out (i know everyone is different) but im curious hehe thanks in advance everyone!!! — sugadaddiewanted (posted on May 5, 2009)

Hi Stephanie.. I just think everyone is different. I am only 8 weeks out
and can still only have no more than 2oz of food at a time. I have lost 42
pounds in 8 weeks. I was told that I would "eventually" be able
to eat maybe a whole slice of pizza. At 11 months out, that sounds about
right but I would not eat any more than that, because you might get sick.

I could eat a slice of pizza on occasion at about a year on...
I would only eat that food in moderation as the calories can really add up,
depending on the ingredients; Especially extra cheese, sausage or pepperoni
or extra large, doughy slices...It's a lot of fun to make your own on low
carb wraps (toasted and crispy in the oven before the toppings go on) then
you put on you healthy version toppings and rebake again for a cripsy
personal pizza! Or I get a ball of whole wheat dough and make my own! It's
fun! Not something I eat often...but once in a while my family takes
advantage of my being too tired to cook and they sneak in a pizza night now
and then too! I can think of far leaner meals...but now and then...I enjoy
a slice (or two if small pieces or thin crust) That's my limit! I watch my
carbs and fats the rest of the day...There was a time I could easily eat 4
slices and maybe 2 more later as a snack! Ugh! Makes me ill just thinking
about how much I used to eat...especially downing it all with a few cans of
carbonated, no nutritional value, high cal,sugar water! Those days are so
long gone.

Hi,
I will be 1yr out from RNY 7/1/09.. That sounds about right to me. I only
roll up the toppings and eat half a slice. Then later eat the other and the
crust goes to the dogs. But..I also am having a awful time (lost 115lbs) so
my teeth dont fit anymore..so chewing is close to impossible at this time.
I did have someone tell me to get turkey pepperonis..put on paper towel in
micro and warm, dip in pizza sauce or any toppin you would use on pizza. I
have also used this with a salsa. VERY good. Kepp up the good work!

Hi ! I am almost 11 months out as well..On MAy 19th,...I reached goal about
5 weeks ago and I still only eat 4-5 ounces of food at meals . I eat 4
times a day and sometimes have 1 snack. My nut. says I should be consuming
about 1300-1500 calories a day to maintain my weight. I have been a slow
loser and have counted calories the entire journey. I also journal what I
eat, my fluid intake and grams of protein. I eat about 1 slice of pizza at
a meal occasionally, minus the crust. Its makes me feel sick if I eat more
than a bite or two. Sounds like you are doing fine, having lost a great
