Question:
Been doing some research!

Here is what I have discovered...First of all the surgeon who did my RNY was a good one as far as I know...I had very little imput about him since I had not lived in the state very long. What I do know is that I did not have nearly enough info. given to me about post-op diet and such. I did not even understand the way the pouch actually functions. I was told it's a tool...to eat every 3 hours or so...don't drink anything 30 min. before and after eating and eat more protein than anything else. I was not told why...and at that time I did not have a computer to research...yes...I was probably the only person in the state of Utah who didn't...LOL. Well...in just the few days I have been on this and other sites I have learned so much...for those of you who are familiar with 5 day pouch test and slider foods...knowing that alone could have probably saved me from regaining so much weight (thanks so much jenny wise!} So here is what I am going to do. I am going to do the 5 day pouch test diet and I am going to go back to the way I should have been eating all along, now that I have a clear understanding of how things are in there work it all makes way more sense. I know I sound totally stupid on the subject...and the truth is...I was!!! I hate that I did not look into this so much sooner...but...better late than never!!! If I don't see weight loss I will certainly follow through with revision...but I got a sneakin hunch I probably will!!!    — cakebaby59 (posted on January 4, 2009)

It is my understanding a revision is done if you never reached goal and if you gained back at least 100 lbs. Many doctors will not do a revision if you failed at the first attempt for fear that the second time around will be more of the same. I just did the 5 day pouch test and I lost 8 lbs. You also need to stay as active as you can. Walking is great but you might need something more challenging to achieve your goals. Good luck.

Can you post the websites that you found your information on? I am waiting to see a surgeon for the same surgery as you.
