By now you are probably already in surgery or in pre-op!!! I am so excited for you as I have seen what a wonderful tool RNY has been for me! I am 7 weeks out from my surgery and have lost 48lbs. I feel GREAT. You will notice a lot of gas build up in your tummy and chest for a little while and it probably will be painful, but for me, once that subsided, there was hardly any pain at all. I hope and pray you have a wonderful & knowledgeable nursing staff, attentive to your needs. Your first few weeks will be quite a change and very different from anything you've been through before...Hang in there, it only gets better! congratulations!!!

I want to thank everyone for the kind and wonderful words.........The surgery went great no problem with my gall bladder so he did not remove it......I would say the 2 worst parts were drinking the nasty white stuff (looks like water not water trust me) they give you just before they take you to the OR and the upper GI Stuff..........OMG I thought I was going to die I had to take 2 sips I can not think of any words that will describe that stuff.........I have been blessed I have not had any pain and no gas what so ever..........the only thing I can say I did was I took Citrate Magnesia the day before and I stuck to the liquid diet as best as I could I had a pack of peanut butter crackers and a bag popcorn during that week no crazy eating ...........so I was thinking maybe I did not have gas because I cleansed the day before that may be the key to no gas pain I don't know but it sounds good...........I go see my doctor on 12/11 more to come

Welcome to the new chapter of your life. My only advice to you is to leave the past in the past and celebrate your fantastic future! Remember foremost this is only a tool... use it wisely.. which I no doubt know you will. You will be in my prayers... go get em! Kim 3 years post-op & still celebrating!
