Question:
Does anyone else feel a "squish" in their abdomen when sitting or bending?

I am 2 weeks post lap band and down 17 lbs since surgery. When I sit or bend at the waist, I can feel a squish on the left side of my abdomen. It doesn't hurt, it just feels odd.    — cindyleo (posted on November 19, 2008)

Nope, I haven't heard of any such thing. Is this the side your port and tubing is on? You could have some sort of trauma induced swelling or hematoma in that area I guess. Do you have any swelling there or a very warm area to touch. I didn't think I had any swelling around my port after surgery, but, at 3 weeks when I went for my first fill, my surgeon was unable to access my port because I had so much swelling and fluid built up.... after he had poked a few holes attemtping to access my port, they began to ooze this clear liquid. He pushed around the area and oh boy... it just started coming out. It wasn't pus or anything foul or infected, just fluid from the trauma of surgery he said. There was an incredible amount of it. I wish he would have weighed me after he did this. Perhaps this could be what you are hearing. Other than that, I have no idea. When is your next visit? If not soon, I would recommend you call and ask about this and see if you might need to get in sooner just to be on the safe side. Best of luck, Dawn Vickers
