Question:
Differences between mini-gastric bypass and the RNY, please?
I had a lap RNY and had never heard of a mini-gastric bypass before. Now that I've been looking around some, I've come across it. Although, I can not find any info that explains how they differ. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! — paislieghstar (posted on October 21, 2008)

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you. I just wanted to say "thank
you" for asking this question, I've been wondering about the same
thing for some time now. I will be checking back now and then to see what
others have posted. I hope someone comes up with the answer. I am going to
do an internet search on it now.

I found this site. I noticed one of the differences is that they completely
seperate the stomach.

My understanding is this: they don't cut the intestine; just loop it up.
I only know of 1 surgeon who does this procedure. His reputation is not
good and most bariatric surgeons do not respect or support this operation.
You might want to seriously rethink this if you are considering it.
