Question:
Today is my 1 month surgery date (Gastric Sleeve)
I am a month out from surgery, what can I eat?? I am down 45lbs but I dont know what to bring for lunch to work. I have been having the Lean Cusine but getting old. Any suggestions? — Suzanne3333 (posted on September 26, 2008)

Do you like pistachio? I mix sugar free pistachio pudding mix with cottage
cheese and diced peaches. Or I micro a Morning Star Chicken or Black Bean
burger and refried beans.

Grilled chicken breast and salad greens if your surgeon allows it at this
point. I love spicy black bean burgers by Morningstar, cottage cheese with
strawberries, blueberries or both, hard boiled eggs (I cook them on the
soft side of hard---they are easier to eat), aplles slices with peanut
butter, deviled ham with non-fat mayo and onion, relish or whatever you
like in it, egg salad, vegetarian refried or black beans with a little
cheese and salsa, ham roll-up with provolone cheese or low fat cream
cheese. Good luck and I hope this helps you.

I am not a big fan of Lean Cuisine or pre-packaged foods in general. They
have way too many carbs and sodium for me and the scales won't budge. At
least the South Beach Diet frozen meals are fewer carbs and sugars.
I tend to make my own meals, that way I can know that I am eating the
freshest, organic (for the most part), ingredients and I have control over
how much sodium and sugar goes into each recipe. That way, there are no
preservatives or other ingredients that I can't pronounce. I had lapband
so I'm not exactly sure what you can have 1 month out of the sleeve so I
would suggest a call to your nutritionist.
Good luck to you,
