Hi Donna,
You dont mention the type of WLS. Have you tried Popsicles, fudgesicles?
We need more info..did your Dr. give you a diet to follow?

"Eat" more liquids... unfortunately, liquids are liquids so they
slide right through you. I don't think is any good answer for you other
than hang in there because once you move on to real food, you will find it
much different.
So hang in there!!!

Hi Donna - congratulations on your surgery! Now the real work begins...I'm
also 1 week postop (8/26) with the Realize Band. Although there are days
when I'm truly hungry I've also begun to realize there are times it's head
hunger - including some really stressful things I've had happen this week.
Julie & Sid have some great advice - SF Jello and Popsicles have saved
me on more than one occasion. I also have to make a conscious effort to
make sure I drink enough water; I have kidney stones and always thought I
was drinking at least 2-3 liters a day, but now realize I'm not (which is
probably why I was hospitalized in April with another bout!). So when even
these snacks don't work I go for a 10-12 oz. glass of water. I don't know
about you but I'm really sick of sweet things (I was on this diet 2 weeks
preop also), and am really looking forward to starting the next phase
today. For variety, don't forget low-sodium broths, decaf herbal teas, and
flavored waters. Good luck! By the way - what kind of surgery did you have
- it doesn't say on your profile.

I just looked at your profile to see what surgery you had...You didn't
mention it...So I looked at your DOC...an OMIGOD! What a cutie patootie!
LOL Just thought I'd say so...I have no ideas since I didn't have lapband
(WHOLE different ball of yarn there)...Sorry, but I'd be willing to see
your doc anytime! LOL

Hey Donna,
I am just over one week post op from lap band also. It is normal to not
feel full right now. When you can have creamy soups, it helps.
Unfortunatly, you just have to bear it. You can do it. Dont give up.
Oh...and by the way your Doctor is a hottie. LOL! I had to look at his pic
after I seen someone elses comment. Hang in there girl. Message me if you
wanna talk. We are about in the same place with our surgery dates

I had VSG and the first week after surgery I definitely felt hungry.
Whether is was real hunger or head hunger I didn't know but it's the same
thing when you're experiencing it! Ha! I was thinking, Great! I'll be
the first person to have VSG and still be hungry. But I can tell you that
the 2nd week was much, much easier! Just keep pushing fluids and have some
sf popsicles. At least then you're chewing something. Hang in there!
Your body needs time to heal. Once you start mushies, you'll get that full
feeling again and FAST! It was until I started mushies that I realized I
had actually had surgery!
Good luck!

I found that warming v-8 juice with a lil garlic and blk pepper made it
feel like real food. I ate it with a spoon...like soup. Also I did the
same with swansons chicken broth. Good luck and congrats!! hugs, Kim

I too am one week out from RNY and still on liquids, but my doc's
instructions indicate I can have mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, grits,
oatmeal, cream of wheat, blenderized soups..believe it or not these things
are filling..call your nurse and ask....Remember, there are NO STUPID
QUESTIONS!!! Good Luck!
