I was banded on 8/4 and been actively exercising the last 7 months. Here
is what I was told. I can walk for the next 4 weeks. I can ride the
exercycle or recumbent bicycle for 4 weeks, I can lift no more than 1 of my
15 lb weights for the next 4 weeks but I may not do any work on my exercise
ball, crunches or ab work until 8 weeks after surgery.

I was told I could do anything as long as I didn't have a problem with it.
Like pain, etc. Every surgeon is different.

We're like twins!! My band was 7/23!! I saw my doc yesterday and he gave
the okay for full blown working out!!! I swam and did resistance training
for an hour in our pool yesterday and again today!! woo hoo....get on it
girl! but if it actually "hurts" you at your port site take it
easy but when you feel the burn from actual exercising, press into it and
get your money's worth!! :)

I was walking within two days of surgery. I had surgery on a Thursday
morning and was golfing on that Sunday with my Dr's approval! He
encouraged me to do as much as I could.

I had LapBand and open hernia repair with an 8 inch incision and spent one
overnight in the hospital. On discharge, I had no restrictions other than
not to soak my incisions until they were completely healed ie: no bathing
or swimming. No other restrictions. I was told to exercise all I wanted
and all I could do.
Good luck and exercise away,
Dawn
