Question:
Need help with a food journal
does anyone have any examples of food journals they keep before surgery? Possibly something you had to maintain while visiting a dietician? — jenbn (posted on August 4, 2008)

I use dailyplate.com. It's free for the standard version and really helps
me keep track of what I eat.

Hi, I've had to lose 50-60lbs before my RNY and I've found
www.thedailyplate.com to be excellent tool. You just set your goal calorie
count for the day and then just pick-n-click on food you eat and it keeps
track for you, tells you how many calories you have left, graphs your
intake, is exportable to excel, etc. They even have local grocery store
brands and chain restaurant foods.

I use or have used sparkpeople.com or fitday.com. Just be honest with what
you actually eat when writing it down.

I see someone has already recommended sparkspeople.com and I can't say
enough wonderful things about it. My nutritionist loves the sheets when I
hand them to her monthly as does my PCP. They are also acceptable for my
insurance co...good luck. Kimberly

I use fitday.com, also a free site. You can use it to log your food,
exercise, and weight loss goals/successes.

I use Sparkpeople.com to enter my daily intake and exercise. You can print
it out if you need to take it to the dietician. You can also create a
community there and talk to your friends. I belong to The Petite Flowers.
Good luck,
