I had RNY 3 1/2 weeks ago adn was in wor 2 nights. I heard someone talking
to a lapband patient and they told her if she felt well enough she could go
home same day, however she chose to stay one night in hosp. If there are
complications....pray that there are none...then it could be more days.

I was only in for 1 1/2 days. The day of surgery (mine was for 8 a.m.) and
then I was released the next day around 1 in the afternoon. Part of that
was because I got up and walked a LOT (everytime that gas pain started in I
was up and around to make it disappear). Good luck, God bless and see you
on the losing side!

I had my surgery first thing in the morning on Wednesday and came home on
Saturday. They were actually aiming for Friday, but I had a complication
that needed monitoring.

Most everyone is in for two nights. My blood Oxogen did not come up right
after surgery so they kept me on oxygen for 4 nights, and release me the
afternoon of the 5th day. It had nothing to do with the surgery, and more
of an issue that I have had with other surgery before. Count on 2 nights,
but be sure to walk the evening after surgery. It helps get you on track
to go home.

Good luck on your upcoming surgery. Typically you are in the hospital for
2 nights, but that will depend on you and your doctor's preference. I had
my surgery on Jan. 7th at 7:30am. The next morning I was told that I could
go home by my doctor because I was doing so well. I left the hospital at
around 3 pm because the nurse was too busy to give me discharge
instructions. The key is walk, walk, walk. After I was taken to my room,
I was up walking 3 hours later.

I was scheduled for 2 nights. Had ny surgery on a Friday, was sent home on
Sunday... I had complications and was readmitted Monday. I spent a total
of 10 days in the hospital. I do not want to scare you, but sometimes
things do not go as planned. I have no regrets... I have lost 100lbs and I
feel wonderful. I had a rough start. I just wanted you to be aware that
the risk factor is there and is real. For me the benefits out weighed the
risks. GOOD LUCK! And you will probably spend 2 nights like the rest of
these folks!
