Question:
I am 4 months out of band surgery and still have pain around
my port area. The nurse-practioner said that it's scar tissue healing...anyone more than 4 months out experience this? — rhammgag (posted on September 20, 2007)

first off, is it constant pain or just occasional like if you move wrong.
If it is constant, you need to get into your surgeon and have a flouroscopy
or some other test ran to make sure that the port is still positioned in
the correct place. each dr does theirs different, but I know that my dr
actually stitched mine on. If it is only occasional pain, like if you move
wrong, or pick something heavy up, that can be totally normal. I still have
days from 4 c-sections when I move wrong, and i have stabs of pain from my
incision area. My last c-section was in Jan 2003. I just learned the hard
way, DO NOT let someone else tell you how your body is feeling. Demand to
be seen and make sure everything is right. That money spent for the surgery
should include follow up care for a minimum of a year. assess what is
going on, and if you are truly concerned, demand to be seen. Even if it is
just for your peace of mind. Remember everyone heals different, there are
many factors that could come into play, but stick up for your self....it is
better to be safe than sorry. Unfortunately i ended up sorry. Best of
luck remember life is beautiful
