An ng tube is a nasogastric tube. It is a tube inserted through your nose
and passed into your stomach usually post operatively to suction out
stomach fluid.

you should be wearing an ID braselet that states you are a Gastric ByPass
Patient and that you should not be given an NG tube. If they insert it in
the field they could put a hole in your pouch. This is what I recomend to
my support group.

I just want to add my 2 cents worth. I am a nurse (RN) and my surgeon told
me that insertion of an ng tube would be no problem. I want to caution
people that if an ng tube is needed to save your life, then, you have no
choice. Sad, but, true.
