Question:
HOW MUCH DO NUTRITION PRE & POST CONSULTATION COST?

HI TO EVERYONE, NEED HELP WITH NUTRITION COSTS. I LIVE IN NEW YORK AND SERIOUSLY, I'VE BEEN TO INITIAL CONSULTATIONS WERE THEY SAY THEY CHARGE FOR THE WHOLE PRE AND POST FOLLOW UPS A SET FEE, BUT I FOUND THE QUALITY TO BE POOR. Are you talking about the poor quality of the nutritionist that is with your surgeon? or one that your seeing separately? Mine is with my surgeon, and is included in the total cost, plus we get a big book full of nutritional information. If your concern is the nutritionist that is with your surgeon is poor -talk to your surgeon, because you need someone who works hand -n- hand with your surgeon, so they know what your surgeon wants , and all the details re: your surgery. Or ask your surgeon to recommend someone else. I would tell him you have complete faith is him, but the nutrionist doesn't seem to be very helpful, could he recommend someone else. Simply because, as I'm sure you have read, each surgeon is so different in what they tell their patients re eating, also maybe the the book WLS for dummies, I've heard it's gret and plan on getting it myself before my surgery. Hi- Im from NY- and you really should post this on the NY board- you will get a lot more response from Post Ops. Plus you don't say whether you are in upstate NY or downtown/ NYC? area My surgeon- Shawn Garber & Spencer Holover- have a nutritionist that is part of their group, along with a psychologist- and they all do the support groups at Mercy Hospital. You should come to a meeting- its the 2nd Tuesday of the month- and 6pm is the orientation & surgery overview for preops and 7-8 pm is the support group for everyone- preops included. Donna

I LIVE IN NEW YORK ALSO(WESTERN) OUTSIDE OF ROCHESTER. I JUST HAD PSYCH EVAL AND IT COST ME $165.00.. MY FIRST NUTRITION APPT. COST ME $68.00.. I HAVE SEEN HER ONE MORE TIME SINCE THEN AND HAVE ONE MORE TO GO.. BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE CHARGING ME FOR THEM.. HAVEN'T GOT THE BILL YET... HOPE THIS HELPED.. :D
