Question:
Have a hard spot next to my old stitch area that hurts!!
I have a lump on the right side on the top part of my stiches( not on the stiches, but just to the right) that gets real sore on a daily basis and when i push on it, its really a hard spot. If I would strech my body or move wrong it really hurts and when i cough, it hurts too. Should I worry about this? — Sharie T. (posted on October 21, 2005)

It is according to how old your surgery is. I would see my pcp at anyrate
for treatment. If he thinks it is necessary he will refer you back to your
surgeon. Good Luck

You may have a "keyhole" inscisional hernia. or an adhesion.
either way you need now to consult with your surgeon and investigate it.
I am sure that it can be resolved.

Since you are barely more than a month out of surgery it is possible it is
a fluid pocket. It's amazing how much a small quantity of fluid trapped
below the skin can hurt. Have the surgeon take a look at it. Just because
it's not on the incision doesn't mean it still cannot be fluid. Good Luck!

Good Morning,
If you have not done so already. I would recommend you consult your
surgeon. You may have a hernia or infection beneath your incision.
