Question:
What kind of suggestions can you give me for starting the predetermination over again
I have exhausted all appeals and have gotten some new insight as to what my insurance is looking for after going through the insurance department. I now weigh 203 lbs which brings my BMI between 38 & 39 and I have made an appointment to see my surgeon again. I will see him on 9-26-03. What do I need to include this time around? — CINDY D. Cindy, Why do you think going through approval he!! will produce any
different results this time? Did you find something out that will make the
difference? Otherwise I'm not sure it's worth the aggravation. I know you
want WLS but your energy might be better put to use on something else.
<p>If I was you I would have a written out detailed diet history that
includes diet type and approx. when you did it and for how long and approx.
lbs lost. Also reference if it was doctor supervised and list that
doctor's name. Also put together a detailed medical history so that the
insurance reviewer can see the big picture. My surgeon picked 3 co-morbs
to use but it was just the tip of the iceberg and 2 of them were not that
bad as far as I was concerned. When BCBS came back and asked for the
detailed diet history I also sent them my 2 page spreadsheet of medical
conditions and surgeries. I figured it sure could not hurt. Good Luck!
