Why is it that surgeons or there insurance clerk do not help you with appeals?

Unfortunately for the WLS patients, there are plenty of people to take
their place and fill the available surgery dates. Although many surgeons
are very wonderful and compasionate people, it is still a business for
them. Hard to say, but it just is. I think their could and should be SOME
assistance, but it usually falls upon the patient and in some cases their
hired lawyer to fight denials and get successful appeals.

They are not getting paid to file appeals. Of course they want to provide
your surgery, but honestly, this is a very time-consuming process and is
not the surgeons responsibility at all. He did his part by requesting the
initial approval - after that it is the patient's issue, not his.
