How long does it take to get approval from BC/BS of Alabama?

BCBS of Alabama Recv'd my information 2 weeks after my consultation and I was approved 1 week later. I hope this helps.

It's strange...but I was never told that I was approved! Never got a letter or anything from my insurance carrier (BCBS of GA-Federal PPO). All of my hospital charges were PAID in full except for $300, and they paid my surgeon's bill, all but $1,509. In the beginning, during my research and "hoop-jumping", I wasn't very pleased with my insurance...Now, I don't have a negative word to say. BCBS of GA REALLY took care of things for me! It guess it just depends on how you talk, who you talk to and the type of plan you have. Be sure to ALWAYS read the fine print, and should any question(s) come to mind, ask for an explanation (I prefer mine in writing), but didn't need to because I wrote a letter of commendation to one of the customer service reps that gave me a WEALTH of information, when some of the others only gave me vague answers. BC/BS of Alabama approved my surgery in 10 days from the time they received my paperwork. I got tired of waiting those 10 days and called them every other day until they told me over the phone I was approved and my letter was on its way to my surgeon. Good luck!!!!

I have BCBS of AL(XAA) Preferred Care and was approved in 3 weeks with a pre-existing clause in force. I called everyday and twice on fridays. Mary
