Question:
MY PAPERWORK WAS SENT IN BY DR. CHRISTOPHER TO BOTH MY INSURANCE BLUE CROSS POLICIES
ON 4-23-03. THEY ARE STILL TELLING ME THAT THEY DO NOT SHOW IT ON THEIR SYSTEMS. HOW LONG SHOULD IT TAKE TO SHOW UP AND TO BE REVEIWED? I'M GETTING REALLY ANXIOUS. — CINDY D. (posted on May 2, 2003)

Hi Cindy,
If mailed, it takes approximately 7-10 days for the insurance to get your
claim and begin the process, and then approximately 10-14 days for the
process to be completed. You need to find out if your claim was mailed or
faxed by your dr. If faxed, they should have gotten it a long time ago.
Don't let them lose your paperwork or forget about you! Good luck!

I was told that it would take 3 to 4 weeks before I would hear and answer
because there are several processes that the paperwook would have to go
through. That was unexceptable for me. So this is what I done! I called
BC/BS of Florida's customer services and asked for the pre-authorization
number. I called that number and told them that I would personally hand
deliver everything to them. So, I went to my surgeon's office and got the
letter and pictures then hand delivered everthing to the BC/BS
Preauthorization department. After 3 hours I had an answer. Not the
answer I wanted but it was an answer. Now I am appealing the decision and
again I will hand deliver it! This is my body and life they are dealing
with.
Good Luck
