I weighed 256 lbs. on May 30, 2002, the day of surgery (at 5'7",
that's 40 BMI on the nose -- lost 12 pounds before surgery, down from 268
lbs. at surgical consult). Less than nine months later, I reached 147
lbs., my personal goal. Still there just six weeks later, but hey, we all
gotta start somewhere! ;-)

September 5. I now weigh 135. I started out at a size 24 and now wear
10's and some 8's. I'm still loosing and my goal is 120, but I'm pretty
happy with where I am right now.

Start weight 245-250, BMI 40-41. Now 17 months post-op 140. I'm 5'6"
with a BMI of 22. My body chose to be a slow loser, but I still made goal
and I'm thrilled with that!

Cindy- there are alot of us "lightweights" who did it! I was
250lbs and 5'2". Over 10 months later I am now 134lbs. and only a few
lbs away from my goal weight, despite a billion plateaus. Extremely happy
:-) Goodluck to you

I'm 5'2 starting weight 230 now down to 180..Surgery was on 11-04-02..I
just consider myself to be a slower loser but a loser none the less.. Happy
with the 50lbs I've lost.. I've now set my goal weight at 145 or 150..which
will give me about 30 to 35 lbs until goal.. But I keep trying.. It will
just take me longer but that's ok.. at least i'll be smaller.

5'4, 259 on day of surgery (10/21/02); 271 highest weight. I weighed in
this morning at 196; 63 pounds gone. I'm thrilled.

I was considered a lightweight. I am 5'7" and topped out at 230
pounds. That gave me a BMI of 37. I am now 18 months post op. My current
weight is 118-120 depending on the time of month...LOL That puts my BMI at
around 18. I have also had a tummy tuck. I never imagined it would be
this good!!!!!

Man, am I ever in need of some lightweight success stories. I am going on 8
weeks and have only lost 25 lbs. Even as I type this I know that 25 lbs is
a lot, but scale has been stuck for awhile. I keep trying to think of where
I will be in a year from now, instead of a day from now. :)I did a lot of
research on this and knew it would be a slow loss compared to others, but
it is still hard not seeing that scale drop.

I started this journey 5'6 231, I hit a BMI of 36. 1 1/2 years later I am
5'6 230. I feel incredible! I wouldn't change any decision involving this
surgery.

I started at 208...5'3". I am four and a half weeks out and have lost
15 pound. I kind of feel like you. I thought it would go faster. But, at
least it is going!!! It was nice to read the success stories. I will hang
in there with you. Barb

Hi there! I was a lightweight at the time of my surgery (7/2003), being 5'0
3/4" and weighing 227. I think my BMI was 41? Can't recall right now.
I now weigh 123, and it took me about 14 months to hit the 100 lb. mark. I
was definitely a slow loser, and of course, this caused me all kinds of
stress because i was CONVINCED i'd be the ONE PERSON this surgery wouldn't
work for. However, with a little bit of time and patience, I found that the
surgery *did* work for EVEN me. I think the combination of a short height
and having a lot less poundage to lose than others is why some people lose
slower than others. Good luck to you!
