Question:
Has anyone ever had numbness or pain in the tops of their thighs after surgery?
I had my revision surgery on 11/29/10. The surgery lasted 7 hours. I noticed that after my surgery that my butt became very numb and the tops of thighs became very tight and painful. I asked my surgeon about it and he said something about the nerves in my thighs and I needed to walk. My PCP had me go for a doppler ultrasound of my legs last night. They said that everything looked alright. I never had this problem, when I had my RNY in 2003. I was wondering if anyone has dealt with this before. Lisa — Lisa N. (posted on December 9, 2010)

I had pain all over my body. It has been 16 months since my surgery, and
now finally I am getting back to normal in a sense.
I am just frail now, b/c I am so thin!

I am 15 mos. out, and have had slight numbness whenever I touch or move my
hand over my stomache on the left side of my belly button, that has been
there since about 2 months after my surgery. Figured it was nerve endings
trying to grown back. No actual pain, just that weird numbness.

Yep, it took a couple of years to go away. Was sort of like my thigh had
fallen asleep and had the tingles. Got the same thing with my C-sections
but the numbness was on my belly. The nerves will regrow and you'll be as
good as new though may take a while.
