It could be a reaction to anything new you are ingesting. You didn't say how long ago you had surgery or what type you had. The best bet is to call the bariatric center where you had the surgery. Are you eating any kind of new food?

I had similar rash/itching after my surgery (for several months) and my surgeon blamed it on dry skin (it was winter). However, since then I have talked to and read about (on OH) people having these same symptoms. I highly suspect it's a side effect of the anesthesia, but I'm not a doctor.

So I am 4 wks post op from laperscopic RNY, I don't have a rash but I itch all around my scope spots. Once I start scratching/rubbing around them then it just leads to a scratch fest and end up scratching my arms and all over my stomach. I have a appt. with Dr. on the 24th so I will ask him then. Good luck
