Anyone had problems with strictures requiring multiple dilations?

Anyone had problems with strictures requiring multiple dilations? I am 9 weeks post op Gastric bypass and I have had three dilations due to pouch closing, yes CLOSING, completely. I am eating exactly as instructed. I am going in two days for my fourth dilation. Just want to know if any others have experienced this.    — medic3992 (posted on November 29, 2009)

Yep, I had a stricture about 1 1/2 months out,. Had to be stretched at least 5-6 times. Was on the mushie foods phase for months. Good luck. Guess this is common, but not life threatening. GOOD LUCK!!! Marcy

Hi David, yes, I too had the same trbl. My RNY was 7/1/08 and have had 6 dilations due to it closing. I have eaten as directed. But I have always had trbl with adhesions after other surgeries. This is OUR bodies trying to mend its self. I have lost 136 lbs so far..and still have issues with foods..but I figure I was making a life change and it will come with some issues. I wish you the best..I understand the agggravation..hang in there..it does get better!

Well I have ot had the pouch close but have had several strictures. Down to just soup. I hope the figure out why yours is closing up like that. at least it is a quick fix.
