Question:
Does anyone feel "drunk" or "high" after they eat.
I have been on "soft food" for a month and when I eat a few minutes afterward I feel "drunk". I check my sugar and it's fine. I'm taking my vitamins, not eating sugar, and am eating 4-6oz. — C. Barnes (posted on October 5, 2009)

perhaps you are eating too much?? How far out are you? I am 16 months out
and eat 4 ounces every meal. If you are eating, for example a yoplait
yogurt, you are getting way too much sugar. Slider foods..soft foods...are
easier to eat too much of. You should be measuring out your food and I
would personally say to talk to your nutritionist about what and how much
you are eating. Maybe 4-6 oz is ok where you go, but at our clinic..two
ounces is the max until you reach goal weight. They want you to keep your
meals as small as possible for as long as possible to ensure success. If
you have no hunger, this should not be a problem for you. Its not too late
to cut back. Soft foods will not stretch the pouch as easily as stage 3
foods will. I do hope you are waiting 5 minutes between bites and eating
20-30 minutes and no longer. This means 6-7 bites. Good luck to you and God
Bless! hugs,Kim

so food makes you feel high or drunk? You mean dizzy and floaty?
This sounds like funny side effect. You are absorbing foods quicker then
before so your system is havign a problem addressing the messages it is
getting. It will probably go away as you get into the more solid foods but
you should check with your doctor to make sure it is not a reaction with
one of your medications.

Your'e more than likely dumping...If your food contains bread, carbs,
sugar, fruit, sweet sauces of any kind, oil, or fat...you may be
dumping...it happens to me too. There are two kinds of dumping--the
"sweating profusely and cant get up kind", then there is the
"I ate something wrong that makes me feel tired/weird kind".....
