Can you stretch your pouch by drinking water?

I would say no you can't stretch your pouch out by drinking water as it
should just pass through you and there is no carbonation in it to expand
your pouch. Although if you drink it too fast, it may feel like your pouch
is stretched out. But to physically stretch it out would take a lot of
food and perhaps a lot of time. Water should be fine.

Hi! I am 1 year out and what I can tell you is that 1 year ago I asked my
doctor this question and he said that liquids go right thru the pouch. I
was "drinking" v-8 heated up like soup and using a spoon, and
could consume it much quicker than actually drinking it. I was worried
about how fast I was eating it and posed this question to him. I know that
at 1 year I am still eating only 4 ounces at a meal and feel the full or
uncomfy feeling if I try to eat more. I am trying to keep my meals
small...I eat 4 meals to maintain my weight...hope this helps you! Good
luck! hugs, kim

My doctor told me when you drink during meals, it makes the food pass
through quicker causing you to be NOT full. It doesnt stretch the pouch,
but causes you to be hungry. Hope this helps.

we had a seminar with our surgeons in May and my surgeon stated
specifically that liquids cannot stretch your pouch.
