Question:
Does anyone have any experience/feedback on Dr. Zane in Harbor City, CA Kaiser?

My wife had a consult with him in lat 2006 about a RNY revision from a 1980
gastric surgery. He told her she would be in the hospital for a month. We
decided to get another consult with a partner doctor there too. Both Dr.
Zane and his partner would participate in the surgery. The day after the
2nd consult, we were told to come back for a nutritionist meeting. It's a
70 mile drive one way, and I told them my wife was well versed on eating
after gastric surgery. They cancelled the surgery, and accused me of
cancelling it. We then asked to be put on a surgery schedule again, and
then one day prior to surgery some 30 days later, we were told
"someone forgot to put your wife on the surgery schedule". I got
upset and called the head of surgery at that hospital, and got his approval
to have an outside surgeon do the work, as it was apparent Dr. Zane and his
partner surgeons were reluctant to do the revision. I had my surgeon, Dr.
David Suh, do the revision, in July 2007. So we waited from late 2006
until mid 2007 to have the surger due to the unnecessary delays from Dr.
Zane's office. I have Kaiser insurance, and they do do authorize Crown
Bariatric to do RNY surgeries on a contract basis. No, I'd prefer NOT to go
with Dr. Zane due to my personal experience, watching my wife deal with
pain for several months due to his poor bedside manner. DAVE
