You might need to have your iron check. When I crave ice my iron is very low. So, make an appointment w/ you doctor to get labs drawn. This is something that happens to some Gastric bypass patience.

I had the desire for a crunch. If that is the reason you are desiring ice then I would suggest sugar free popsicles. I eat them by the box. They satisfy my need to crunch and now, since I am 5 months out, my desire to snack. It is a good way to satisfy the head hunger we all deal with.

I am 8 yrs out and I crave ice also. Sometimes it is a very fierce craving. I have learned that no one knows exactly why, but there are a couple of things to check. If your iron is low, you may crave ice. also if your body is too acidic you may also crave ice or cold drinks.

I chew ice also. I find it quenches my thirst better than water. I always have ice with me whether I'm at home, the grocery store, or at work. I just had to learn to chew my ice quietly. Oh I know people can still hear me but I'm not as loud in public as I am home alone. I was concerned about my vitamin and mineral levals but I had them checked and I'm doing fine.

Your iron is probably low. I would have my labs performed with my surgeon or primary doc. I craved ice like no other and my iron was 3 yes THREE when the it should be minimum 150. Don't put the labs off. Take care of yourself!

It is a symptom for Iron Definciency/ Anemia...but sometimes it's just NOTHING! Get this one checked out though, especially if you have other anemia symptoms, such as fatigue, dizziness, shortness of breath, weakness, pale skin, cold hands and feet,

I make popsickles and slushes out of my nutrition drinks. It is a healthy way to deal with the cravings.
