Sliming is when you take a bite that is too big and it feels like it is stuck. Suddenly you start to salivate alot. You have to be careful with that first bite because that is the one that I always seem to have problems with. You will learn. I have been banded for 10 months and I am still learning what foods make me slime. Chicken seems to be the worse. Good Luck. Orthene00

my first fill was no big deal. I had problems twice and both time it was my fault - too big of bites, not enough chewing. One was corned beef, the other crackers with p-nut butter. I didn't really vomit, more like backing it out...... But with my second fill, it was different - there was not much I could eat except soft stuff, so I called my Doc and he removed some fill and now I am fine. It's trial and error - just have close communication with your physician and his office. Mine is so great and always available. Good luck.

I just had my first fill a few days ago. I have not had any problems with nausea. Just make sure to chew really, really well. I have found that it is a true learning curve, but with time all of us will learn what we can and cannot have. I have not vomited at all since my surgery. My first fill ended up being 1.5ml, but everyone is different. Just make sure when you start eating after your fill to take it slow. Try to only eat one food at a time, then wait a few minutes before moving on to the next food. That way you will be able to tell if it upsets your stomach.

My experience is very similar to the first 3 who responded. It really is NOT vomiting, when food gets stuck, you learn to simply "push" it back out again and then you learn to chew better! Sometimes what comes out first is mucus that seems to form when food is stuck in there, thus the term sliming, I guess (I never heard that term before). Anyhow, I never felt nausea. It's a learning process, take it slow, chew a LOT! And sometimes I still forget and go back to my old habits when I'm in a hurry, and am quickly reminded that I can NEVER eat in a hurry again. It's uncomfortable, but not painful.
