Hi Yvette... I usually have one day that I think about chocolate all day
long a day before I am due to start. All I can say, is all it will take is
once for you to slip, eat and dump and that will be your cure for that....
I have had it every month.. thank goodness it is only for one day. But I
look at the old pix and think you don't even want to get onto that slippery
slope and I abstain... hope this helps... congrats on your surgery and good
luck.

I was lucky enough to get my period 3 days after surgery (I meant that
sarchastically) and I not only craved everything under the sun, but I could
tell most of it was head hunger. It was the HARDEST thing I had to go
through, but I had heard so many horror stories about dumping etc, and I
didn't want to hurt my new stomach. My "booklet" says "if
you still feel hungry, you need more protein" I've only had one
period since surgery so I couldn't tell you if this happens every month.
But thought I'd share about my head hunger during my period. I also
noticed I was super tired, so had to increase my iron. Good luck and
welcome to the losing side!

Unfortunately, yes. The surgery changed the amount of food we can eat and
the way in which it's processed, it didn't change our cravings or the deep
down reasons WHY we want to eat. That still needs to be dealt with.
Surgery FORCED me to deal with many issues because I just couldn't eat to
sedate anymore.

I hate it when only the good people respond, lol (just kidding). You
should have seen me when I was pregnant! All I wanted was SWEETS (I was
having a girl). And yes I ate them. I gained 36 pounds, then lost it, now
I am pregnant again! So don't think because you give in to cravings 1 time
you are doomed. You can get back on track when the cravings aren't
consuming you! I had insulin resistance before surgery (weighted 370 and
was on medicine for it) and sugar+carbs was my worst enemy, and I still
indulge (I just can't eat a whole lot of it at one time). People should
understand that you can not spend your life saying no--even normal people
eat sugar moderately. We don't have to deprive ourselves. Right after
surgery I tried being that way--I didn't eat one bad thing for 10 months.
But now that I know I can still maintain my weight and eat a variety--why
not?
