I found out the more protein shakes that I drank .. the better shape my hair was in. I also used a conditioner by Rediken which helped a lot too. My hair is still not the same but in much better shape. I also used Nioxin and took Biotin .. mega doses and still do take Biotin.

My hair - texture and fullness - improved tremedously after starting taking JUICE PLUS supplements. I like the gummies - made for kids, but a "sweet treat" for me twice a day. (I don't like chewables post-op...too gritty...and we don't get as much benefit from capsules.) If you can tolerate 6g sugar, you can do the gummies. Depends on how easily you dump. Each daily dose provides your body with the equivalent of 17 servings of fruits, grains and veggies. I do this in addition to vitamins.

Try Fructis Shampoos and Conditioners- almost everything else, including Nioxin according to my salon gal, has TOO MUCH alcohol! That combined with protein and biotin has helped my hair tremendously

I am pre-op but at my nutritionist appointment she said that when I am able to tolerate fish oil capsules than that would work for hair both texture and to keep it from falling out.

For immediate fix - I use Paul Mitchell's Foaming Palmade... (spelling) it's in a little bottle that comes from your favorite hairstylists... ask them for it I bet they can get it for you and it works GREAT on my hair... just a small amount will do you though otherwise it makes your hair look bad.

You might want to go to a salon for a deep treatment a couple of times, if this is affordable for you. That helped me when I was early PO because I had a tendency to get dry and brittle. My stylist still keeps an eye on the condition of my hair when I go in for my cuts and color because I still have a tendency to be dry. Then I would suggest a really good shampoo and conditioner to be used every day, like Redkin or Matrix. You can buy both of these in a salon. Or if you have a Sally's Beauty Supply Store(open to the public) in your area go in and ask about some good shampoo and conditioner that you can buy from them.

Try Cholesterol... You can find it at most Wal Marts and beauty supply stores. It is for african american women but it works great for white hair too. It's only like $2.99

also after your shampoo try leaving the nuetragina conditioner in for 10min instead of three.

I love BioSilk! You can get it upsacle stores and some times even drug stores carrie it now. I just use the leave in stuff not the shampoos, I can't aford all of it so I just use what I think is the best. Good Luck what with whatever you find works.
