Question:
I want stores you can buy the protien drinks at, not on line.

I keep hearing about places that you can buy protien drinks on line, but I am curious about finding a place to buy them that is not on line. If I wait for one to come in the mail and find I don't like it then I am going to have to order another, wait and the cycle continues. I have heard Tader Joes and did buy the canned liquid drinks and liked those quite a bit. I am wanting to know if anyone else has any ideas of where you can get certain protien drinks (or any other things you think of) at grocery stores etc. The GNC stores are obviously different as my GNC does not have some of the things people list on this site. I figured it was worth a try. Your help is appreciated. Thanks!    — continuedmoon (posted on December 26, 2005)

Currently, WalMart features 4 different brands of flavoured Whey Powdered drink mixes. I particularly like the 6 Star Vanilla flavour. Their prices beat all the online prices I can find for the products -- plus, no handling & shipping charges.

My doctor told me about Anywhey Unflavored Protein Powder (you can mix it with orange juice, oatmeal, etc.). I found this at Rite-Aid.

Is there anyone that can suggest a great tasting protein drink for people who are lactose intolerant?

I have found protein shakes at WalMart that I like as was stated. I have found health food stores sell soy based shakes that have a few more grams of protein. Also the health food stores sell them in single purchase paks so that you can try them before buying a large container. For those looking for lactose free health food store is a great place to start due to the vegetarian based food stuffs that they have. You can also find liquid vitamins and minerals for just about every supplement out there.

I love the AchievOne coffee protein drinks in the bottle. I first found them at www.bariatriceating.com but found it to be really inconvenient and expensive to have them shipped, and my shipments usually came with broken bottles. I got the manufacturers information and took it to a local grocery store and made them a deal: I would do all of my shopping at their store if they would stock and sell my protein drinks for my convenience. They did, and I do...and we are all happy. It's a pretty neat arrangement.

I have found Body Fortress at Walmart is a wonderful and easy to purchase protein powder. It mixes smooth and give you a mix of good protein. You will find it over by the prescription drug counter with the other canned style Proteins. Also if you need an already mixed protein body for life is also great for traveling and is sold at walmart.

Try www.unjury.com. They have a few flavors but I use the unflavored to add to my vanilla from Costco so it's not so sweet. Gotta keep up the protein, best to you.

I found a soy-based protein drink that is really remarkable. It can be mixed with milk or water (for those who are lactose intolerant), and they taste great! Check it out at www.revitalize.com Best of luck! Dawn H.

I usually buy my powder at the local body building.com store (not online) or, I have found some at Fred Meyer, but they are more costly. Walmart carries a product in the health food section of the produce department that is called Perfectly Protein, and is a vanilla chai flavor. Very tasty, and the large bottle has 40 grams of protein. It is about 3 dollars for the large bottle, and definitely worth the cost. Good luck to you!

My dietyician told me to use isopure, which is available at most health stores like GNC or vitamin world. If you have GNC's crd, you get 20% off the first seven days of the moth.

My suggestion is that you get some samples from www.vitalady.com. You can get full serving size samples of dozens of types of protein. You can try several of them and when you find the one or more that you like, then you can order full size containers. My favorites are Champion Pure Whey Stack in chocolate, banana and cocoa mocha; IDS Multi Pro in vanilla/cinnamon and cappuccino, and Nectar in Fuzzy Navel (orange with a hint of peach), Strawberry/Kiwi, Natural Peach and the new Cappuccino. Getting the samples is an easy way to try lots of different kinds before you buy an entire container. You might want to make half a sample at a time so you can go through the whole bunch quickly and then get the ones you like. Sheri In Sunny Florida
