Question:
what is a revision and how do you go about getting one done?

A revision may be to repair an older type surgery or to change from one
surgery type to another. You didn't say why you might seek one, so the
"how" would be harder to describe. In my case, I had a diagnosed
staple line disruption (SLD) and weight gain & reoccurance of comorbs
was guaranteed, so I had no problem being revised. I know of many people
who started with one type of surgery and revised to a more modern model
(one or more times) as time has gone on. For example, I know a lady who
had her original surgery in the late 80's and has now had 6 total, as she
has basically "lived" some of the history of WLS. She always
says something like, "Oh, I had 5 ot 6 and I'd do 'em all again."
at support groups. If you could be more specific, maybe we can help. Are
you ill? Did you have an older or obsolete surgery that needs to be
modernized? Do you have substantial regain? Any of those might be
qualifiers. Not all doctors do revisions and many will not do them on
regain alone.
