Question:
Consultation with Dr.
I have just gotten a call from Dr. Kramer's office. I have a consultation appointment with him for next Tuesday at 3pm. I called his office back to see if there was anything I should bring with me. I dont know if I just didnt say what I meant to say or if I just didnt understand what the lady said to me. I am sure there are many people here who have been through what I am going through. If someone could please be nice enough and let me know things that I should have prepared and in hand with me when I go. I would like to make this trip to his office go as smoothly as possible. Thanks, Melissa Smith — kizie23 (posted on November 2, 2005)

I agree and get the pas so while the time is passing and you start coming
up with millions of questions you will not forget. I would bring any thing
from the insurance so they will know if your insurance might want specail
documentatin. I am always over prepard good luck

Melissa, for my consultation I had a list of all the diets (supervised and
non-supervised, i.e. doctors, Weight Waters, Optifast, etc) I had been on
along with every diet pill I'd ever taken, dates on them and weight loss.
This information will more than likely be needed by your insurance company
so if you are prepared before your consult, it might speed up the process.
Good Luck! Dana

For my first consultation with the Dr. it was in a group setting with other
patients and we sat around and filled out a MOUNTAIN of paper work from our
prior diets (had to have diet tried, how much lost, and how much gained
after you went off the diet) medical insurance info, how long you have been
over weight, if you have it they like to see a 6 month dr approved diet and
exercise program you have been on recently if you haven't done it yet and
you might before surgery so you may want to start and get in touch with
your dr. But the main thing you wanna take with you is any questions you
have and a very good pen.....Good luck and remember to hang in there. I
started this process back in December of '04 and my surgery date is FINALLY
set to Nov. 29th. So this can be a slow process but well worth it in the
long run. Good Luck. Please let me know what happens.

You should bring your insurance information, a list of any medication you
take, and information about your past dieting experience qnd any operations
you have undergone. If you write all this down, you can take notes on the
same paper.
