Question:
What can I eat at this point???
I am 2 1/2 months post-op and in desperate need of food ideas. Is tomato sauce ok? (I dump on >3g sugar). Please help me . Thanks — Susan M. (posted on December 26, 2003)

I am 11 weeks out from Rny and find that i can eat just about anything. My
surgeon said to try what ever i wanted at 6 weeks and turned me free to
"try". I have no major problems with anything. I still haven't
done "sugar". I can drink skim milk, but i get cramps from 2%...
weird! The tomato thing you asked about... i have been eating them since
week 1 (soup). Now, i eat spagetti sauce and mexican tomatoe salsa's as
well with NO problems. Best of luck.

My doctor and nutritionist allow their patients to eat absolutely anything
EXCEPT citrus fruit, soft bread, and carbonated drinks at 6 weeks. (These
last three items can be added at 6 months.)
Each doctor has different instructions for their patients. (And they each
have good reasons for the diet they prescribe to their patients.) It's
best to ask your doctor what he/she thinks you can eat at this point.
