Question:
I have questions about Syntrax fruit nectar
I put 1 scoop (23g of protein) in 16oz of water. Is this a meal? Does this count towards my 64 oz of fluids? Please help. — Susan M. (posted on October 24, 2003)

I'm not sure if this helps, but to me if it has more than 100 calories I
would consider that a snack/meal....

I count my morning Nectar shake (I only use 8 oz of water, plus 4 ice
cubes) as my breakfast - 92 calories or not. Who said that
"meals" had to be over a certain caloric content...JR (open RNY

I'm pretty sure my surgeon would count it as both - since it contains water
and does not contain sugar or caffiene, it counts as toward your liquid
count. But, the protein in it also counts toward your total intake of
protein for the day. The important thing is finding something you can
tolerate regularly, and if Nectar works for you, go for it!

As a fresh postie, I counted my protein drink as a meal, but today, no,
only a beverage. I don't count the water as water because my kidneys still
have to "sort" it out.
