Question:
Anybody with similar stats have this surgery?
I decided to have WLS for major health problems, mainly Diabetes. I would like to know what your rate of weight loss was at say two, four and six months post-op? — SANDRA S. (posted on July 30, 2003)

You didn't say exactly what your stats were but I was also diabetic. I had
been on insulin shots off and on for 7 years before surgery. I started out
at 5'9", 268 pounds and a size 24. By six months I hit goal and was
wearing a size 4. My glucose levels have been fine since the day of
surgery. I had high blood pressure before surgery and it is fine now. I
kept a really good month to month diary in my profile.

I started 5'4" and 242. I have been losing pretty well since my
surgery in February. I am down 86lbs. Note, I do exercise 6 days a week,
and I really believe that has kept my weightloss moving. Check out my
profile for the monthly weights. I average about 10lbs a month now.

You're welcome to check out my profile, Sandra. I had Diabetes
Mellitus-Type 2 from October 1994 until about two or three days after WLS
and took over 15 different pills per day. That was not the only comorbidity
I had. There were ssoo many. If they aren't listed, I will be adding them
to my profile within the next week. I've still got some additional work to
do on my profile though. I'm 5'2" and started out as a
"lightweight" of 265 lbs, at 11 months and 1 day as of today, I'm
at 154 (FINALLY came off a plateau) from April/May of this year! (I just
weighed myself) LAP RNY 9/3/02 265/154/115-126...FINALLY, YEAH!! Hadiyah
