Question:
Genetically Modified Supplements
Lately, I've been trying to stay away from genetically modified foods and those treated with growth hormones & excessive pesticides. It seems that these things may be harmful in the long run, altering our own DNA. I want to protect my pouch as much as possible. I'm wondering if anyone knows about genetically modified supplements and if there has been any studies out there about whether these could be just as harmful. There are some lines of supplements that boast of "genomic testing" to ensure product's success. Sure, they may boost absorption of certain nutrients, but perhaps there are other ways of getting what I need. It's one thing to rearrange my guts to help me lose weight, but it's another thing to alter my DNA with genetically altered food products. Any suggestions for reading or research would be appreciated. — Carrie laMariposa (posted on July 21, 2003)
