Question:
I AM SO CONCERNED ABOUT MY LAB WORK,WHAT RESULTS WILL CANCEL MY SURGERY ON 4/27/2001

I HAVE BEEN TAKING IRON PILLS TO BUILD UP MY IRON, BUT I AM SO CONCERNED THAT SOMETHING IN MY BLOOD WORK WILL CAUSE THE DOCTOR TO CANCEL MY SURGERY! AND SHOULD I HAVE A PAP SMEAR DONE BEFORE MY LAB WORK WHICH IS SCHEDULED ON 4/17/2001? HELP!!!!!    — LANIE M. (posted on April 16, 2001)

Many Drs require a pap first.. so check with them to see if you should. I know it would be dissapointing if something shows up in your labs to cancel this.. but try to think of it this way.. it probably wont.. and if it does then it will be canceled for a good reason. Better safe that sorry you know? Just try to keep good thoughts going it is bound to work out.

Try to think of it like this, if you were on an airplane and you were delayed for mechanical reasons, would you still insist on flying on your scheduled plane regardless of defects??? I would hope the answer is no. Delays are very disappointing but keep in mind that is why we pay for expert medical advise. Good luck and hang in there!
