I slept on my couch in a sitting up position for two weeks after returning
home from the hospital. When i finally did sleep in my bed, i bought one
of those long body pillows (which my husband hates!) and kinda put it under
my belly and layed on my side. That help alot. I was very happy to get
back to my bed!!

yes I had a terrible time with the bed. The first night I sat up in a
chair. The we piled a lot of pillows so I could sleep sitting up. I would
try to lie down, but couldn't. It really hurt. I also had my gallbladder
removed, so I thought maybe that added to the pain. Finally after 3 weeks I
could lie down but I had to prop a pillow behind me and under my
stomache.I'm now down a hundred pounds 7 months later and I still use
pillows because I can still feel a little pull.

I had to elevate the head of my bed, (reflux) and used a body pillow. I
couldn't sleep very long in the recliner, so I needed to lay down, I could
only lay on my left side.

Yes! I had a problem sleeping in a bed. My doctor recommended us renting a
hospital bed. It was so uncomfortable that I ended up sitting on the sofa
with pillows behind my head to sleep. In 3 days I had them pick up the
hospital bed. I slept on the sofa for almost 2 weeks and then slept in my
bed with lots of pillows. I too, was up every 2 hours. I am 3 weeks post op
now and am able to sleep in my bed on my side! yeah! It will happen! I am
still catching up on lost sleep!
