I too drink a lot of water I can't seem to get enough water. If I drink it
too fast it hurts going down. So I try and take my time and drink slowly. I
can't eat and drink at the same time. I wait at least an half hour after i
eat before I drink. Or I drink before I eat. I tried to eat and drink at
the same time and but if the food don't go down then the water won't go
down either. It get stuck in my throat.

Hey Angel: I also had Lap RNY and don't know if that is the reason you
crave water. I think it is probably true for many. I also crave liquids.
I drank only tap water without ice for many months because I got so cold.
Now I am drinking ice water again. I always add a wedge of lemon--even to
the room temp. water. Try to drink before and up to eating and then wait
at least 30-45 min. after eating to drink again. I am 9 months post op and
can drink a lot of water fast. Try the warmer water and see if it helps.
Good Luck.

Hi Angel,
I too have a hard time with REALLY cold water. Sometimes when I wake up in
the middle of the night I get a drink of water and boy does it hurt my
tummy. It almost feels like a cramping sensation. But it only lasts for a
few minutes, enough time for my body to *warm* the water up, then the
cramping feeling disappears. Good Luck...

I have the same problem-only with water. It feels like a ton of bricks
when it hits my stomach and then my stomach 'clenches' it for a few
moments-then it is gone. I only have this problem with water and ususally
when I have not eaten or drank anything else. Does it get better??? I
have an appointment with my Dr. today and will ask him-I am 3 weeks
post-op..

When I drink water fast it hurts sometimes going down. Try sipping. That
seems to help me.
